The Metropolitan Police have yet to establish how a camera, reported to contain sensitive information and images relating to terror suspects, ended up on eBay.
In September, a member of the public alerted police in Hemel Hemsptead after buying the digital compact camera on eBay for £17.
Two months after it launched its investigation The Metropolitan Police today confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
Speaking to Amateur Photographer, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said that police investigations are ongoing.
The camera is understood to contain al-Qaeda suspects’ fingerprints and academic records. Pictures of rocket launches and missiles were also reportedly stored on the camera?s memory card.
Police have distanced themselves from reports that the camera may have belonged to an agent for MI6, the secret intelligence service. However, police have stated that they would speak to all agencies as part of the investigation, which also involved seizure of a computer.
In October, The Met took over the case from Hertfordshire Police as it was deemed to be a national matter.
