Sony has today unveiled the Cyber-shot DSC-HX100V (pictured above) and DSC-HX9V, digital compact cameras each boasting a GPS system, compass and Full HD movie recording.
Said to be ideal for travelling, the 16.2-million-pixel pair also boast a ?DSLR-class? autofocus system, capable of focusing in 0.1sec according to Sony.
Features also include 3D Sweep Panorama and Background Defocus – designed to automatically combine two successive frames captured at different focus settings.
?These are combined to yield a professional-looking image with crisply-focused foreground subjects against a smoothly-blurred background,? claims Sony.
The ?flagship? Cyber-shot HX100V sports a 30x Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* 27mm wideangle zoom lens (in 35mm viewing angle terms).
A manual control ring on the HX100V allows the photographer to adjust focusing and control the zoom.
The HX9V (below) carries a 16x (24mm wideangle) Sony G lens.
Both cameras use a Sony Exmor R CMOS imaging sensor.
They are due to go on sale in April at prices yet to be announced.
