Photographers expect Sony to reveal further details of its replacement for the Alpha 700 DSLR at the Focus on Imaging show which starts today.
Earlier this year Sony USA showcased a prototype Alpha 700 DSLR successor at the CES show in the United States.
The high-end enthusiast DSLR is expected to feature the translucent mirror technology introduced in the Sony Alpha 33 and 55 cameras at the end of last year.
Sony has confirmed to Amateur Photographer that the new model will feature a ‘substantially better’ electronic viewfinder, as well as high ISO settings ‘up into the hundreds of thousands’.
The body shell will be made from magnesium alloy and the finished product will be priced in the same region as Canon EOS 60D-type products.
The current A700 uses an APS-C sized sensor, and we expect the replacement to do the same.
Focus on Imaging opens at the Birmingham NEC today and runs until Wednesday.
