Photojournalist and explorer Levison Wood captured more than 40,000 images, some of which will be showcased at the Visions of Africa exhibition at La Galleria Pall Mall, London SW1Y, from 6-12 December.
The photographer (pictured below) said he encountered elephants, rhinos, lions and hippos on his Nile adventure – using a Leica M digital rangefinder to record a ‘stunning combination of raw photojournalism, reportage and portraiture’, according to the gallery.
A fifth of sale proceeds from the exhibition will go Tusk Trust, which funds conservation, community development and environmental education programmes across Africa.
‘His photographic journey begins in the tropical rainforests of Rwanda and travels along the lifeblood of the continent all the way to the Sahara desert in a visual odyssey of modern discovery,’ said a spokesperson for La Galleria Pall Mall.
