Located in Quang Boinh provice, Vietnam, the Hang Son Doong is a stunning mountain river cave thought to be the largest of its kind in the world.
Photographer Ryan de Boodt put together a video log of his journey through the stunningly verdant cave, including footage captured with a DJI Phantom 2 drone.
He captured footage both at the cave’s main entrance and two gigantic “skylight” areas found 2.5 and 3.5 kilometers inside – these are holes in the cave’s ceiling created through giant collapses caused by erosion of the limestone.
According to the official website, the cave is ‘200 meters wide, 150 meters high, and approx 9 kilometers long’. A Boeing 747 can fit inside its largest cavern.
Ryan’s journey was arranged through travel company Oxalis Adventures, and you’re welcome to follow him if you have a spare $3,000 kicking about.
