PRESS RELEASE
20 March 2015
Olympus is proud to announce the launch of their ‘DSLR Users In Need’ campaign, which premieres at the Photography Show 2015, offering sufferers of Post DSLR Syndrome complimentary neck and shoulder photo massages.
As part of an Olympus UK Corporate Social Responsibility drive, the company is seeking to tackle Post DSLR Syndrome head on. As a result of extensive research, Olympus has discovered that this common ailment, experienced by customers as they transition from bulky DSLRs to Olympus’s neater Micro Four Thirds system – OM-D and PEN – is treatable with the help of specialist medical devices and targeted therapies.
In a bid to shine a light on the syndrome and begin the healing process, Olympus is launching a short film entitled ‘DSLR Users In Need’, which will debut at the Photography Show 2015.
DSLR Syndrome sufferers attending the show are encouraged to visit the Olympus stand, where a limited number of complimentary photo massages will be available. Photographers who make the decision at the show to ditch their oversized DSLR for a more modern form factor can claim a Virgin Experience Spa Escape voucher to help avoid Post DSLR Syndrome altogether.
Mark Thackara, national marketing manager, Olympus UK Consumer Products, said, ‘DSLR Users In Need is a cause very close to our hearts at Olympus – we want sufferers to know that they’re not alone and that we’re here to offer support on their road to recovery. The Photography Show provides the perfect launch pad and high-profile platform for the campaign.’
