For the first time Canon – one of the biggest names in photography – will not be represented at the annual Focus on Imaging show in Birmingham.
?Canon will not be exhibiting at Focus on Imaging in 2006, the dates of which coincide exactly with PMA in Orlando,? confirmed Alessandro Stanzani, head of Canon Consumer Imaging UK & Ireland.
The show is due to take place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from 26 February-1 March and is open to the public.
Stanzani added: ?Our strategy for 2006 and beyond is to focus on bespoke, Canon activated, customer facing events and activities that will provide us with highly valued opportunities to meet our business partners, press contacts and customers face to face to introduce them to our latest products and discuss our plans for the future.?
Among the confirmed names at the show, according to the event?s website, are: Nikon, Fujifilm, Hasselblad and Kodak.
