Nikon has this morning unveiled a 35mm f/1.8G lens which is due to land in UK shops on 6 March, priced £199.99.
The DX-format lens delivers the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 50mm lens and is billed as ideal for ?discrete snapshots?, as well as landscape photos.
?We expect that many customers, particularly photography students, will find this lens an affordable choice for expanding their photographic system,? said Nikon Europe product manager Ludovic Drean.
The newcomer features eight elements in six groups, and includes one aspherical lens.
It boasts a claimed close focusing distance of 0.3m and a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.16x.
The AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G comes with a 52mm lens cap and a lens pouch.
