The Nikon Coolpix P900’s f/2.8-6.5 lens is designed to deliver the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 24-2,000mm zoom.
Features include a 16-million-pixel CMOS imaging sensor and Dual Detect Optical VR which aims to equate to five stops more of shutter speed.
The Nikon Coolpix P900 sports a vari-angle 3in screen that carries a resolution on 921,000 dots.
Also on board is an electronic viewfinder, built-in Wi-Fi and NFC, plus GPS.
The EVF also has a resolution of 921,000 dots.
Speaking at a compact camera launch in central London’s Ice Bar, on 10 February, Nikon UK’s group marketing manager Jeremy Gilbert told journalists that ‘superzoom’ cameras will be ‘one of the most important markets for this year’.
