HP is suing Pelikan Hardcopy Deutschland GmbH for alleged patent infringement relating to print cartridge and ink formulation.
?The cartridges in question are apparently new, as opposed to remanufactured products,? claims HP in a statement.
?They are being sold under the Pelikan brand and designated as H06 and H08 colour cartridges.?
A UK spokesman for Pelikan Hardcopy declined to comment other than to say he is aware of plans to deal with the issue.
HP filed the lawsuit in the Düsseldorf District Court, part of which requests that Pelikan halt the alleged infringement.
?The discovery of Pelikan?s alleged infringement is the result of ongoing worldwide testing and enforcement efforts within HP?s Imaging and Printing Group,? adds HP.
