The Honor 600 lineup has officially been announced, with a redesigned new look and a clear focus on how images are processed rather than completely overhauling the hardware. The headliner Honor 600 Pro is a solid midrange cameraphone with a 200MP main camera. While the overall camera specs remain broadly in line with the previous generation, the 600 Pro introduces important upgrades to refine your shooting experience.

The faster Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset brings premium processing power to an already well performing camera hardware base, and promises better telephoto performance with cleaner detail as well as more consistent results across different shooting conditions. The main 200MP sensor is a 1/1.4inch one, so it handles low light scenarios well, but with the new chipset and processing pipeline it should deliver ultra-clear night shots alongside answering some shortcomings of the previous model with more accurate colour balance, improved dynamic range, and overall consistency across different lighting conditions.
Design-wise there’s a big update over the Honor 400 Pro, the rounded edges disappeared in favour of a flat back and elegant matte metal frame, the trapeze camera island is redesigned to a squared format with a familiar camera layout. While the screen has a smaller 6.57inch format, weight remains just under 200g despite a bigger 6400mAh battery. The AMOLED display also got an incredibly bright 8000nit peak specification, which should make it easy to see even in full sunlight. You also get the highest, flagship level water resistance with IP68&69.
For casual and enthusiast shooters these small refinements can actually make a difference when it comes to how photos look straight out of camera. The series is not officially sold in the US, but for the UK market, the Honor 600 Pro is priced at £899 for 12GB+512GB, while the Honor 600 is available for £599 for the 512GB, and £549 for the 256GB version.
