This year’s Amateur Photographer product awards were presented on 26 January 2012 and were split into the follow categories:

  • Consumer compact camera of the year
  • Enthusiast camera of the year
  • Consumer CSC of the year
  • Enthusiast CSC of the year
  • Consumer Camera of the year
  • Enthusiast Camera of the year
  • Fixed Lens of the year
  • Zoom lens of the year
  • Accessory of the year
  • Software of the year
  • Innovation of the year
  • Printer of the year

There was also a grand prize for Product of the Year and an AP reader nominated Product of the Year.

Two personal awards were also presented to those who produced exceptional photography and contributed greatly to photography with a Power of Photography award and an Exceptional Achievement in Photography award.
