Pentax has announced a new version of its K100D digital SLR which will feature an anti-dust facility. Called the K100D Super the new model appears to be almost identical to Pentax’s existing K100D 6.1 million pixel but for the anti-dust feature. It is not clear at this point whether the K100D Super will replace either the K100D or the K110 – the K110D has no anti-shake system.
The K100D Super uses the same moving CCD sensor anti-shake mechanism as the company’s flagship 10 million-pixel K10D DSLR, as well as the 11 AF point SAFOX Vlll wide-area autofocusing system.
The new body will also feature an auto ISO mode that allows settings as high as ISO 3200, as well as manual settings from ISO 200. The camera will have a maximum frame rate of 2.8fps, a 2.5in LCD screen and will be compatible with SD and SDHC memory cards. Pentax has yet to release details of pricing and availability.
