Following on from our recent series of posts of amazing photographers you might want to add to your follow list, here’s a set of photographers who are excelling in the boudoir genre and will add a little bit of sizzle to your Instagram feeds.
Boudoir photography has always been associated with sensuality and aesthetics, and recently it has evolved into a wider conversation around identity and self perception.
Although undoubtedly sexy, the images are far from being seedy. Instead, boudoir is designed to empower and embolden the sitter. Most boudoir subjects are women, but it’s perhaps surprising to discover that huge numbers of boudoir photographers are women themselves, too.
Creating a safe space for their subjects, as well as knowing exactly how to pose, light and dress the subject for best effect is perhaps what draws women to the genre, so you’ll find that almost all of the photographers in our list below are women.
If you’re keen to know more about this exciting genre, we have a complete guide to boudoir photography that can guide you through the basics of the subject, as well as giving you some advice on a whole range of things from settings, to lighting, to outfits and more besides.
If you’re looking for further inspiration in similar genres, take a peek at our complete guide to portrait photography, and if you’re new to photographing professionals, then be sure to also see our dos and don’ts of working with models.
