Lomography’s Lomo’Instant Camera is billed as the ‘world’s most creative instant camera system’ and features a host of manual and automated functions.
Built into the Lomo’Instant is a wideangle lens with a focal length of 27mm (equivalent) and a minimum focusing distance of 0.4m.
Also available are 170° fisheye and 35mm equivalent portrait lens attachments in a separate Lens Package.
In a first for instant photography, the Lomo’Instant boasts a maximum aperture of f/8. In its manual mode it can be stopped down to f/11, f/16, f/22 and f/32.
As well as a set 1/125sec shutter speed, the Lomo’Instant also has a bulb mode, allowing for long-exposure techniques such as light painting.
The Lomo’Instant has a built-in flash, which can be altered with a selection of colour gels that come with the camera.
The camera works with Fujifilm’s widely available Instax Mini film, which is sold in the Lomography online shop.
This is not Lomography’s first foray into Kickstarter – in 2013 the company managed to raise more than $1.3 million to reinvent the Victorian Petzval portrait lens, and before that raised $268,702 for a smartphone 35mm film scanner.
The Kickstarter campaign for the Lomo’Instant will end in 23 days. A donation of at least $79 will get you a camera, though backers outside the USA will have to pay additional shipping costs.
