The DJI Inspire 1 features transforming carbon fibre arms that fold up after takeoff, granting the camera an unrestricted 360º view of what’s beneath it.
The Inspire 1’s camera can shoot 4K video at 30 fps and capture 12-million-pixel images on its 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor. it is equipped with a lens consisting of nine elements in nine groups, and supports Adobe DNG Raw format.

A full mobile app also allows amateur drone pilots to take control of both drone flight and camera functions, using the mobile screen for live view.
It is also possible to split these functions between dual operator controls, allowing two people to concentrate on the separate functions.

This transformation can be activated with a single button press, thereby switching the Inspire 1 between takeoff/landing and flight modes.
The Inspire 1 also features GPS and an ‘Optical Flow’ positioning system that functions when GPS is unavailable, allowing the drone to be used indoors.
This system also monitors how close the drone is to the ground, and will lower the landing gear if it deems it to be necessary.
