Allowing users to access photography apps and games, for example, the Coolpix S800c becomes a ‘fully fledged entertainment centre’, says Nikon.
Priced £379.99, the Coolpix S800c is due for UK release on 27 September.
‘The Coolpix S800c helps you capture a stunning image and then allows you to instantly share it via social media platforms – extending your experiences to friends and family,’ said Nikon UK Consumer Products manager James Loader.
‘As soon as you’ve got your shot, you simply tap the screen to upload to Facebook, Twitter or to send via an email, for example.’
Features include a 16-million-pixel imaging sensor, a 25-250mm [35mm equivalent] lens and a 3.5in, 819,000-dot-resolution OLED screen.
Also on board is built-in GPS, backlighting HDR and a top burst rate of 8.1 frames per second.
The Nikon S800c weighs around 184g and measures 111.4x60x27.2mm.
