Fresh from Ricoh?s stable of digital compacts is the 6.16-million-pixel Caplio RR660 which is billed as an entry-level model with a 12x zoom.
Powered by a pair of AA batteries the camera is claimed to weigh 130g, without batteries and memory card.
Features include an f/2.8 12x zoom, designed to deliver the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 34-102mm lens. In macro mode the camera can focus down to 5cm, according to Ricoh.
Out in July priced £129.99, the RR660 boasts a top shutter speed of 1/1000sec and a 2.4in LCD screen (110,000 pixel resolution).
The newcomer has a built-in memory 16MB and is compatible with SD memory cards.
Features include exposure compensation of ±2EV in 0.3EV steps.
There are six shooting modes including portrait, landscape, sports and night scene, plus a movie mode.
