Panasonic has this evening announced a new ‘flagship’ digital camera in the shape of the 10.1-million-pixel DMC-FX500 which sports a ’25mm’ ultra-wide zoom lens and a 3in LCD ‘touch-screen’.
The on-board Leica DC lens aims to deliver the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 25-125mm zoom.
Camera features include auto-focus tracking and – in a first for Lumix models – a 3in touchscreen interface which photographers can use in combination with joystick control.
It can also record High Definition (HD) images for playback on a widescreen TV, according to Panasonic.
