December will see the launch of a new 85mm lens from Nikon, the firm’s second DX-series prime lens.
Billed as a ‘perfect portrait lens’, the AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm f/3.5G VR will cost £499.99.
Nikon claims that the lens is also ideal for people new to macro photography.
It has a close focusing distance of 28.6cm and a 1:1 reproduction ratio, according to Nikon.
The newcomer contains an ED glass element and delivers the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 127.5mm optic.
The Nikon 85mm lens is due to land on the UK high street on 4 December.
It was officially unveiled yesterday alongside the new Nikon D3s digital SLR.
