Fans of VR and 360º photography could be in for a treat, as developers officially launch a crowd-funded bid to make the world’s smallest consumer 360º camera a reality – the Nico360.
The little camera looks to be relatively impressive, given its diminutive 1.8″ x 1.8″ size – it’s apparently fully waterproof, features a class-leading 32MP sensor resolution, is capable of full HD VR livestreams to Facebook and YouTube and can shoot in Adobe RAW/DNG for extra editing options – all for a projected price of $149.
That puts it at about one-third the price of big-league competitor Samsung’s offering, the Gear 360.
And it looks as though there is some real interest behind the Nico360, too, since in just a matter of days they have already exceeded their target of $50,000 by quite some distance – with a full month of fundraising still to come.
