In what appears to be further evidence of the public?s insatiable appetite for images of Kate Moss, yet another photo of the supermodel is up for grabs at auction. This time it will compete against a screenprint of Moss by the urban artist Banksy.
Two versions of Albert Watson?s 1993 portrayal of Moss in Marrakech, Morocco will be sold at Bonhams in London on 16 April.
A gelatin silver print is estimated to fetch £5,000-7,000. While, a C-Type print on aluminium has been valued by auctioneers at £3,000-5,000 (below).
In a statement a Bonham?s spokesman said: ?Watson is one of the most successful and sought-after fashion and commercial photographers who has produced photographs for magazines such as Vogue, The Face, Rolling Stone and Newsweek.
?His crowning achievements include his unprecedented 250 cover images for Vogue ? perhaps the ultimate barometer of success for a fashion photographer.?
Banksy’s 2005 portrait of Moss could raise as much as £50,000, say auctioneers.
The sale also includes an etching of Kate Moss by the artist Tracy Emin.
Other photographs in the auction include portraits of Elton John and Faye Dunaway by Terry O?Neill and Watson?s picture of Uma Thurman.
A ‘self-portrait’ of Andy Warhol is also among the lots.
