Olympus is set to unveil a clutch of new compact cameras at the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show in Japan, headed up by the SZ-10 ?Super Zoom?.
The 14-million-pixel Olympus SZ-10 sports a lens designed to deliver the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of 28-504mm zoom.
Available in black or silver, priced £199.99, the SZ-10 features HD movie recording (720 pixels) and 3D shooting, the latter capturing two photos from different angles to create images viewable in 3D on a compatible TV.
Firepower also includes a 3in (460,000 dot) screen and Dual Image Stabilisation.
Among the SZ-10’s eight Magic Filter effects – which can be applied to movie or still images – are Fish-Eye, Pin Hole and Watercolour.
The SZ-10 also incorporates Shadow Adjustment Technology which aims to improve the exposure for dark areas in a scene.
The Olympus newcomer is compatible with Eye-Fi cards, allowing photographers to wirelessly transfer their pictures and videos to a website or computer.
Olympus has also today unwrapped three V-series compacts: the 14MP VR-330 (£159.99) and VR-320 (Jessops only, £139.99); and a 12MP model called the VG-110 (priced £79.99).
CP+ opens in Yokohama tomorrow and runs until 12 February.
All the new Olympus models are due to land in the UK this month.
