DxO says its Connect software, which is based on ‘substantial feedback’ from DxO One users, is particularly useful when processing raw images captured in low light requiring an ISO of 6400 and above. The software uses algorithms to analyse thousands of neighbouring pixels ‘to automatically and dramatically reduce noise in images while leaving fine details intact’, claims DxO. DxO, creators of the award-winning DxO ONE Professional Quality Connected Camera for iPhone®, announces the immediate availability of the first major update to DxO Connect for Mac and PC. DxO Connect version 1.1 now offers a more flexible workflow when importing and optimising photos captured with the DxO ONE camera, so it’s even easier to make your best photos look even better.
DxO Connect v1.1 streamlines image processing of DxO ONE RAW files
Companion to the DxO ONE, DxO Connect is a free software application for Mac and PC that lets users browse, import and optimise their DxO ONE images in just a few clicks. The DxO ONE camera captures images in RAW+JPEG by default, providing both the immediacy of sharing via the iPhone, and the advantages of advanced RAW image processing on a desktop computer. DxO Connect is especially beneficial when processing RAW and SuperRAW images captured by the DxO ONE in extremely low-light environments that require ISO 6400 and above. Leveraging the very latest in spatial and temporal noise-reduction algorithms, DxO Connect analyses thousands of neighbouring pixels, to automatically and dramatically reduce noise in images while leaving fine details intact.
The DxO Connect version 1.1 update, based on substantial feedback from DxO ONE users, includes new tools, and features an enhanced user interface and improved performance. Among the many features is the ability to import a batch of images, then browse and optimise only the selects, which greatly streamlines the image-processing workflow. The upgrade also provides more flexibility when creating folders so as to better harmonise with users’ workflow.
DxO Connect leverages DxO’s award-winning RAW processing engine, the same powerful engine that drives DxO OpticsPro, DxO FilmPack and DxO ViewPoint. All three of these powerful desktop applications now include support for six additional cameras, including the Canon PowerShot G3 X, Pentax 645Z, and Samsung NX200, as well as the DSC-RX10 II, DSC-RX100 IV and A7R II from Sony. Developed in DxO’s laboratories, DxO Optics Modules contain all of the information about the characteristics of each camera and lens. This database, unique in all the world, allows DxO software to automatically correct optical defects with an unparalleled level of quality. Updates to DxO OpticsPro 10.5.1, DxO FilmPack 5.5.1, and DxO ViewPoint 2.5.9 also provide full compatibility with Apple OS X El Capitan.
