The tailor-made ‘Drone the World’ holidays allow travellers to use the services of cameramen and directors who have worked on movies such as Star Wars and James Bond films, and documentaries for the BBC and National Geographic.
The drone pilots will travel with them to film their holiday experiences and ‘gain a new perspective on the incredible places [in which] they are travelling’.
Clients will receive a pre-trip consultation with their drone photographer and editor, to run through the mechanics of drone photography and video, and talk through the subjects they want to capture. They will also learn the essential skills needed to capture aerial footage.
‘Whilst people are becoming more comfortable taking their own still photography and footage on their phones and cameras, we have seen a rise in clients wanting to professionally capture their travels,’ said Tom Marchant, co-founder of luxury travel firm Black Tomato.
‘We looked at our own network of cameramen and photographers and have slowly been offering people the opportunity to capture these incredible destinations from a new perspective and a new height.
‘In order to deliver truly one of a kind travel experiences with a difference we’re now offering all clients the chance to travel with famous drone cameramen to add another new dimension to their holidays.’

At the end of the holiday the firm says it will provide a ‘dedicated featurette’ – produced and edited by their photographer – as an exclusive memoir of the client’s adventures and the chance to see where they travelled, from a completely different angle.
Marchant added: ‘Whilst we realise the importance of phones and devices for capturing moments, we thought it was exciting to give clients the opportunity to capture their experiences from the skies.
‘Along with being able to see your travels from a whole new vantage point, it also allows clients to focus on an experience that is truly special, instead of worrying about getting the right shot.’
The ‘Drone the World’ holidays cost from £4,000 per person.
