News story
Canon has today unveiled its first waterproof digital camera in the shape of the 12.1-million-pixel PowerShot D10, due to land in UK stores at the end of April.
‘From surfing to snorkelling, skiing to mountaineering, the PowerShot D10 is designed to accompany users on every adventure,’ said a UK spokesman.
Canon claims that the camera, priced £379, is waterproof down to 10m and able to withstand a drop from a height of 1.22m.
The D10’s lens is designed to deliver the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 35-105mm lens.
Features include Scene Detection, and Motion Detection Technology, the latter designed to detect camera and subject movement and adjust settings accordingly.
The D10 sports a 2.5in LCD screen and a Digic 4 image processor.
