The British Journal of Photography announced the winners of Portrait of Britain 2024. For a month, digital screens of JCDecaux all over the country transform into the biggest outdoor gallery showcasing the one hundred winning portraits. Celebrating the diversity of our nation and the compelling stories of its people the exhibition turns everyday people’s stories into public art on the billboards and high street displays of Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and London.

The prestigious judging panel selects the final 200 shortlisted images from a steadily growing number of entries, these images are then published in the dedicated Portrait of Britain 2024 photobook. The selection includes a medley of topics from candid and everyday to subjects of debate, where every gaze holds a unique story and highlights what it’s like to be living in Britain today.
