Welcome to our archive of content from our annual Amateur Photographer Awards. Founded in 1977 the AP Awards is the UK’s oldest and most prestigious awards event for the UK photographic industry. The event is unique in recognising not only the finest cameras and hardware released during the previous year but also outstanding people.
From seasoned professionals to emerging talents, the AP Awards celebrate the visionary photographers whose work has most inspired us as well as the heroes who use their talents in the service of helping others.
The expert-curated awards are also complemented by the Readers Choice awards, in which the public vote for their favourite kit, communities and creators cameras, and acknowledge the UK’s best independent photo retailers and services through the Good Service Awards.
The AP Awards take place every year in London around the end of February. Explore the awards in more detail in the articles below, and for information about attending the awards or sponsoring a category visit our Awards portal.
