If you regularly travel abroad with your photography equipment then this versatile camera bag from LowePro is definitely worth a closer look. Not only can it be used as both a rolling case and a shoulder-mounted backpack, but it’s also designed to meet the carry-on luggage requirements of most major airlines.
When you want to use it in roller mode, the shoulder straps tuck neatly inside the bag while the waist belt can either be removed or also tucked inside the bag. Either way, switching from roller to backpack (and vice versa) is a quick and easy process. Used in backpack mode we found the bag to be hugely comfortable thanks to its generously padded and highly adjustable waist belt, and contoured shoulder straps. A telescopic handle extends from the top when you want to use it in roller mode. Last but not least, the bag has two generously padded carry handles on the top and the side. Overall construction is second to none, with the use of premium quality materials throughout. For extra protection from the elements, the bag also features a built-in All Weather cover.
The main inner compartment is accessed via a lockable double zip, and organised via LowePro’s MaxFit divider system. This enables you to set up the inside of the bag to your own requirements, so that all of your equipment receives the maximum padded protection from the supplied dividers. There’s plenty of space too; we were able to fit a full-frame DSLR with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens attached, plus another full-frame DSLR body, four additional lenses and a flashgun inside the main compartment. A separate compartment on the front, meanwhile, provides enough storage for a 15-inch laptop, a 10-inch tablet and a portable hard drive or Wacom tablet. Rounding things off are two wing-shaped pockets on the exterior for small personal items.
