Hama 2in1 USB 2.0 OTG card reader at a glance:

Sometimes the simplest products can be the best. At first sight, Hama’s 2in1 device looks like a conventional reader for SD and MicroSD cards, but it has two connectors, one on each end. A conventional USB 2.0 plug allows use with laptop and desktop computers, while more unusually, a standard micro USB plug provides on-the-go connectivity with compatible Android smartphones and tablets. This means that the reader allows you to browse images on your camera’s memory card and copy them to your device for editing or sharing, with no need to set up a Wi-Fi connection, or indeed have a Wi-Fi-enabled camera or SD card at all.

The reader is compatible with computers running Windows (10, 8, 7, Vista and XP) and Mac OS 10.x, and many devices running Android 4.0 or later. It’s small and neat, and will slip easily into a bag or pocket. In use it worked flawlessly on both a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 105 and HTC One M9 smartphone. Best of all, it’s inexpensive.

This a great accessory for any photographer with a compatible Android phone or tablet, and is now permanently in
my camera bag.
