Pentax has freshened up its waterproof digital compact line-up with the release of the Optio W60, which it says is able to operate in depths of 4m for up to two hours.
Billed as a lightweight model, the 10-million-pixel newcomer comes with a lens delivering the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 28-140mm lens.
Features include Face Recognition AF and AE, SmileCapture, Blink Detection and a claimed Macro focusing capability down to 1cm.
Using the Digital Shake Reduction option, the camera automatically adjusts to capture images at a ‘maximum’ equivalent ISO sensitivity of ‘6400’, claims the company.
Also included is a 2.5in (230,000 dot) LCD screen. The W60 also features a ?digital wide? function designed to merge two images to produce the effect of a ?21mm? viewing angle, says Pentax. The camera also incorporates a panorama stitching mode.
Videos can be recorded at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
The W60 is due out in August priced £229.
