Photographers have joined forces to help raise cash for Haiti earthquake survivors by launching a magazine packed with images of the country taken before last week’s disaster.
The project was the brainchild of Lane Hartwell, a freelance photojournalist based in San Francisco.
Photographers whose work is featured in the 40-page publication have contributed their work for free, with 75% of the US cover price destined to benefit the Red Cross.
Contributors include renowned photojournalist Mary Ellen Mark.
The magazine, called One Respe, is a collection of photos and photo essays filled with images of pre-earthquake Haiti, according to its publisher.
The title, One Respe, is said to stem from a traditional Haitian greeting that means ‘honour and respect’.
