TPOTY founder Chris Coe said he regards the existing rules as ‘perfectly adequate and robust’ following criticism from a TPOTY 2012 entrant.
Coe contacted AP to emphasise that organisers will ‘request that speakers do not show images in their talks which they intend to enter into TPOTY that year, making it clear that any judge who has seen an entered image in the context of Travel Photography Live will declare that during judging’.
However, organisers repeated that neither they, nor the judges, have committed any wrongdoing and – as stated in last week’s report – no-one involved with the judging saw the images beforehand.
Coe wants to make clear that none of the judges saw the talk given by the eventual winner Craig Easton at the RGS in October.
